Born in Chile and raised in Sweden, Lars returned to South America to attend the Valparaiso Film School. Toxic Playground was Lars’ first film which went on to win 6 international awards, screening in over 30 international festivals and being broadcast on TV across Europe. Since completing Toxic Playground, Lars has retrained as a speech and language therapist and now lives in the north of Norway.
William met Lars at film school in Chile and following Toxic Playground has continued to work as an investigative journalist, film-maker and editor. His credits include The Essence of Terror, Democracy Road and The Witness - broadcast on SVT, NRK and Al Jazeera. In 2014 William became a partner at Laika Film and Television in Stockholm.
Editor Goran Gester's career spans 40 years in film and television, in Stockholm, Buenos Aires and Madrid. Straddling both fiction and documentary, with credits on numerous award winning films, Goran's keen eye is honed by his continued work as a DoP, feeding his habit for stories in the space between culture, politics and current affairs. Producer Andreas Rocksén co-founded Laika Film in 2003 and is now Managing Director. He has produced numerous short and feature length documentaries and the expanding Laika slate now includes fiction projects, including as Swedish co-production partner for Kaouther Ben Hania’s ‘La Belle et La Meute’ selected in 2017 for the 'Un Certain Regard' section at Cannes. Andreas is also lead producer on the HotDocs Forum (2017) pitched Rajada Dalka - Nation's Hope about Somali Women’s Basketball and co-producer for the eagerly anticipated 2018 Mads Brügger feature release, 'Cold Case Hammerskjöld' supported by Eurimages & Doc Society.
